There are only two ways to whiten your teeth, either by physically rubbing a layer of your enamel or chemically dissolving the stains!

But before using charcoal-based toothpaste or any other grainy toothpaste, you should know that those products haven’t received the Seal of Acceptance by the American Dental Association, for many reasons:

1-they will deteriorate the enamel, which will expose your teeth to decay faster and will cause sensitivity in the long run.

2-the abrasiveness of the toothpaste will cause irritation for the gum and the soft tissues in the mouth

3-they will harm the artificial restorations like veneers, crowns or bridges, implants, and filling

On the other hand, if the toothpaste is chemically whitening your teeth then it is safer to use but for a limited time and with your dentist’s instructions!

The most common chemically used whitening gels are hydrogen and carbamide peroxide. So if your toothpaste contains one of these in a small percentage and it is an ADA-approved product it shall be safe.

However, whitening toothpaste alone is not enough to take care of severe yellowing and deep tooth staining. If you have deep stains then you may need a professional teeth whitening treatment from Smile Studios Medical Center.

coping with stress is the main factor to help manage any of the above cases, along with preventive methods for each scenario, usually done during your dental routine visits, to allow evaluation of the progress of the condition.

and last but not least, the best advice is always to try to find ways to help de-stress and cope with this challenging period of time, as well as maintain a healthy diet plan to help boost your immune system and general health overall.
